Before you grab a job

You may browse nearby requests while screening is pending. Grab-A-Mow must approve a completed background screening before you can quote or accept a job. Current general liability insurance covering every booked service must also be verified before acceptance, payment, the property address, travel, helping, or work.

After separate reviews, a ✓ Background check approved mark and a ✓ Insurance verified mark appear beside your name. Paying for or uploading a report or policy does not award either mark. The background mark identifies Grab-A-Mow's approval of a completed, point-in-time check; it is not ongoing monitoring or a guarantee of safety or work quality.

Why insurance matters: a mower may throw a rock through a window, a trimmer may damage siding or irrigation, and snow removal may lead to a slip or damage to pavement, landscaping, or a parked vehicle. Confirm with the provider or agent that every service you offer—including snow shoveling or snow blowing—is covered, and review exclusions, limits, and deductibles.

Required background-screening approval

Account approved for dashboard access

An approved background screening can make your profile eligible to appear to homeowners in your service area, receive quote requests, and send quotes. Homeowners see a ✓ Background check approved mark with the report completion date, so they can make an informed choice. This is a point-in-time check, not ongoing monitoring or a guarantee of safety, reliability, or work quality. Current insurance verified for every booked service is required before job acceptance. Stripe payout readiness and homeowner payment are also required before paid work.

Option 1 — New Checkr screening

Loading the secure screening offer…

Before you pay: You can browse homeowner requests first. We recommend waiting until you see homeowners requesting lawn work in your area before purchasing a screening, so you do not spend money before local work is available.

When online checkout is available, you pay Grab-A-Mow $49.99 total through Stripe for one new Grab-A-Mow Basic - Lawn Pros Checkr background check. This is a one-time charge for that screening, not an enrollment fee, subscription, or annual fee. Grab-A-Mow covers any additional screening fees and tax for this order.

If Grab-A-Mow accepts your completed Checkr Basic report, its scheduled review point is five calendar years after the report completion date. There is no annual recheck. The badge shows when the report was completed and that Grab-A-Mow approved it; the report is a snapshot of that date, not continuing monitoring of future conduct. Approval can end sooner if the same report is revised or disputed, eligibility information changes, or a safety or account concern requires review. At the five-year point, the badge and quoting/job access pause until another suitable report is approved. You may choose a new Checkr screening or submit an existing completed report for review. Grab-A-Mow never orders or charges for another screening automatically. Uploaded reports follow their separately recorded review expiration. Neither payment nor a completed report guarantees approval, a badge, or jobs.

If a valid invitation cannot be delivered after we reconcile your payment and Checkr order, we refund the full $49.99. If an invitation expires, contact Support for replacement-or-refund review; there is no automatic second charge. An unfavorable result alone is not refundable once the report begins, subject to applicable law. Read the screening payment and refund terms.

Option 2 — Upload a completed report you already have

Private to Grab-A-Mow reviewers. Redact your Social Security number and full birth date. Keep your name, report date, provider and screening results visible. Never upload someone else’s report. Uploading does not guarantee eligibility; the report must be suitable for Grab-A-Mow's job-access review.

You can keep browsing jobs while screening is pending, but quoting, acceptance, travel, helping, and work remain locked until Grab-A-Mow approves the completed screening. Stripe payout readiness, insurance, and homeowner payment are separate requirements.

Lawn pro

The background mark records approval of a completed report, not continuous monitoring or a guarantee of safety or work quality. An accepted Checkr Basic report has no annual recheck; its scheduled review point is five calendar years after completion. An uploaded report may have its own recorded review expiration. Approval can be paused or removed sooner after later review. Insurance status and its expiration are separate. A private preview is visible only in this dashboard and does not grant job access.

Stripe payout and tax setup: Choose individual or sole proprietor, or your registered business, using the legal name that matches your tax records. Enter your SSN or EIN only in Stripe's secure form. Grab-A-Mow does not collect or store that number. Stripe uses the information for payout verification and eligible year-end tax forms.

Transferred totals are transfers to your Stripe account, not your bank balance. Bank arrival follows Stripe’s payout schedule.

Available jobs near you now

These are open opportunities, separate from work you already accepted. Every request shown is inside your saved radius and matches your current availability window. Quoting unlocks only after current background screening is verified, and verified insurance for every booked service is required before job acceptance. Exact property addresses remain private until all booking requirements are met.

Work together & split earnings

Each job has a $50 minimum total. Grab-A-Mow’s 12% fee is taken before helper splits: a $50 job has a $6 platform fee and $44 in pro earnings before applicable processing costs. Agree on helper shares from those pro earnings.

Each helper needs their own Grab-A-Mow pro profile, current background screening, current insurance verified for the services in that job, and Stripe payout setup before joining or working. Helper signup. Connect with another pro, then offer a percentage of an accepted job’s pro earnings. The helper must accept before you travel; the lead keeps the remainder. The homeowner’s price stays the same.

Each helper’s background-check status is shown separately; only a verified check earns a badge. Shares lock when the lead marks On my way. Payment releases after completion and homeowner approval, or after 24 hours without a reported issue. Stripe bank timing may vary. The selected lead remains responsible for the visit, photos and homeowner messages.

Connections & team messages

Job helpers & agreed shares

  1. Connect with the helper and use the message box to discuss the job, tasks, timing and split. A connection or message alone does not create a payment agreement.
  2. After accepting the homeowner-selected job, choose the connected helper below. Enter their percentage and the work they will do. Review the dollar amount, check your confirmation box and send the offer.
  3. The helper reads the work and payment share, checks their agreement box and selects Accept work and payment share. Pending offers are not accepted agreements.
  4. The split comes from the displayed pro earnings, not the homeowner’s total price. The lead keeps the remainder after all helper shares. Each pro receives their agreed share through their own Stripe account when the job qualifies for release.
  5. To change a pending offer, cancel it and send a new one. For an accepted offer, ask the helper to withdraw before travel, then send a replacement for acceptance. Once travel starts, contact Support about changes.

Required insurance for booked services

You may sign up and edit your profile before approval. You may view nearby requests and quote after required background screening is verified. Before you can accept, receive payment, view the property address, travel to, help on, or perform a job, Grab-A-Mow must verify current general liability insurance covering every booked service. Grab-A-Mow services are limited to lawn mowing, weed eating/edging, ground-level fall cleanup, routine ground-level shrub trimming, mulching, hand-pulled weeds, and location- and season-dependent snow work. Specialty, chemical, elevated, construction, painting, repair, and other unlisted work remains unavailable.

Services your insurance proof says it covers

Select only services shown by your policy or certificate. These selections guide the reviewer; they do not verify coverage, licenses, permits, or unlock jobs. At least one routine primary service is required. Specialty work remains locked unless the reviewer confirms that exact category. Chemical applications and unlisted regulated trades are outside Grab-A-Mow.

Grab-A-Mow reviews the document, insured identity, dates, and covered services. A reviewer records only the supported services the proof confirms. Uploading proof alone is not verification. Screened pros may still view requests and quote, but job acceptance and work remain locked until reviewer-verified coverage is current. Policy terms and the insurer—not the dashboard badge—decide whether a particular incident is covered.

Choose an insurance provider

These are separate provider links. Purchase and coverage decisions are made by the provider. Until a provider connection confirms qualifying coverage directly to Grab-A-Mow, submit your current certificate below for review.
